Tofu has been around for thousands of years. It is said that a Chinese cook stumbled upon it when accidentally curdling soy milk by adding nigari seaweed. Although many Americans see tofu as a meat replacement tofu's role in our cuisine is much broader as it appears in both savory and sweet dishes as well as a side dish to meats versus replacing it.
This Tofu recipe came about after we spent a day introducing our seasonings at our local farmers market. After many conversations with customers, we decided we needed to make a fried tofu recipe to introduce our amazing seasonings to the vegetarian and vegan communities thus the Never Soy Never Tomahawk Tofu recipe was born!
This is a very easy and quick recipe for use as a building block for salads, stir-fries, soups, appetizers, tacos or wraps. It is also delicious to eat on it's own and is so good, we changed people's minds about tofu at the farmers market! Enjoy!
